Ms. Busby has an extensive background in government, previously serving as the Director of the Mental Health Boards with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. She also previously served as Chief of Staff for the Colorado State Senate, after quickly working her way up the ranks from a Policy Intern, to Policy Analyst, and Policy Director. As a policy staffer, she focused on a variety of policy areas, including construction defects, education, healthcare, insurance, business, marijuana, public finance, and natural resources policy.
Ms. Busby graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law as a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society and with an Environmental & Natural Resources law certificate. While in law school, she worked full time at the Colorado State Senate and interned with a litigation law firm and a regulatory law firm. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy and Government with a minor in Law Studies from the University of Colorado - Denver.
Ms. Busby serves in leadership roles in in the following organizations: the Colorado Women's Bar Association, serving as a Board member and the Chair of Public Policy Committee, the Colorado Bar Association, where she is appointed to the Legislative Policy Committee, and the Denver Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Council.
