Who you are & what you will be doing:
The successful candidate is an experienced litigator interested in civil defense including representing Fortune 500 companies. He/She is capable of independently working-up complex casualty cases for trial and representing clients in the courtroom as part of the trial team. This position is not relegated to answering discovery and writing briefs. We are seeking litigators looking to depose key witnesses, conduct direct and cross-examinations of witnesses at trial, and handle oral arguments of motions before the Court.

Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase your litigation skills and work up complex cases? Knight Nicastro MacKay, LLC, a nationally renowned civil litigation firm, is seeking a paralegal with 4 to 7 years of litigation experience to join its growing practice.
Who you are:
The successful candidate is a self-starter who has strong analytical and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work for multiple attorneys, and the ability to work well with team members. Experience with analyzing medical records is a plus. Must have excellent communication skills and function well in a fast-paced team setting.
What you bring:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel, as well as advanced skills with editing pdfs.
- Experience using case management software for file organization, document management and production.
- Experience using time/billing software to enter time is required. Firm minimum requirement is 1675 hours per year.
- Proficiency with e-filing (state and federal level), docketing, preparing disclosure and discovery documents, preparing basic motions, preparing for depositions and trials, and trial assistance.
- Able and willing to travel for trials. Required.

Legal Administrative Assistant
Job Description

As a KNM LAA, you will work closely with the paralegals and attorneys as a critical part of the trial team and an important contributor to the success of the firm.
So, what are we looking for?
We need a team member that can provide strong organization skills, which includes time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking. We are also looking for a team member with these additional qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Strong proofreading and editing skills
- Ability to successfully prioritize multiple projects and meet internal and external deadlines
- Willingness and ability to perform additional tasks as required
- Ability to anticipate needs and manage changing priorities
What will you be doing as a KNM LAA?
- Preparing correspondence and pleadings
- Calendaring
- E-Filing in state and federal courts
- Preparing trial documents
- Scanning and copying
- Scheduling meetings, depositions and making travel arrangements.
- Assisting KNM’s paralegals with follow up calls and medical requests.
- Assisting KNM’s CLE committee with its in-house CLE program, which includes scheduling CLEs, coordinating with the presenting attorneys, ensuring accreditation, and maintaining attorney CLE hours.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a legal administrative assistant/legal secretary, defense litigation firm preferred
- Must have prior experience with litigation processes and be comfortable with the deadline driven nature of a litigation practice
